Business Idea Award

Six final year students of BA in Political Science formed Team Bhutan Sawdust & Beyond. They participated in RUB Business Idea Competition 2023 organized by Centre for Business Research and Entrepreneurship Development, GCBS in collaboration with Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Employment and Royal University of Bhutan.
Team Bhutan Sawdust & Beyond of Norbuling Rigter College was awarded the second runner’s up position and received cash prize of Nu. 20,000 and Nu. 5,00,000 as a seed fund.
Team Bhutan Sawdust & Beyond pitched the idea of capitalizing on turning waste (Saw Dust) into resources inexpensive and durable building blocks and planks for construction and furniture units).
The members of Team Bhutan Sawdust & Beyond are Ramesh Bhandari (CEO), Dechen Namgay (Production manager), Ugyen Yangdon (Marketing Manager), Tenzin Wangchuk (Technical officer), Pema Khandu (Feedstock Manager) and Chencho Zangmo (Accountant).

Karma Wangmo

Karma Wangmo is pursuing BA in Political Science and Sociology in year one.

Since 2015 she played in the Senior National Women’s Football Team. Most recently, she represented Bhutan in the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) championship which was held in Nepal from 25 August 2022 to 19 September 2022.

Currently, she is playing for Paro FC.
