Mr Namgay Wangchuk holds a Master of Arts in Economics from South Asian University, New Delhi, and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Geography from Sherubtse College, Royal University of Bhutan. During his postgraduate studies, he conducted research on the “Overview of Growth and Development of the Bhutanese Economy,” which contributed to his academic grounding in development economics and policy analysis.

He completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education (PgCHE) from Samtse College of Education in 2025, further strengthening his pedagogical foundation. The programme emphasised curriculum design, effective assessment practices, and student-centred approaches to teaching and learning, enhancing his capacity to deliver engaging and academically rigorous instruction.
Since 2021, Mr Wangchuk has been serving as an Associate Lecturer at Norbuling Rigter College, affiliated with the Royal University of Bhutan. He teaches a range of interdisciplinary courses, including Introduction to Development Economics, Development Paradigms, Environment and Development, Sustainability and Development, Development Financing, and Poverty and Development. His teaching reflects a strong commitment to academic rigour, critical analysis, and the integration of theory with contemporary socio-economic issues.
In addition to his teaching responsibilities, he has actively contributed to academic administration as a member of the Examination Committee and continues to serve as the Waste Management Club Coordinator. He also coordinates and supervises research projects for third-year Development Studies students and the Business programme, guiding them in research methodology, analytical reasoning, and academic writing.
Mr Wangchuk’s academic interests include development economics, sustainability, environmental policy, and Bhutan’s socio-economic development. He remains dedicated to fostering intellectual growth, analytical skills, and reflective learning among students.
