Mr. Ugyen Thinlay has completed his under graduation from Sherubtse College when it was affiliated to Delhi University. He completed his MBA from Webster University, St. Louis, MO in the United States. He has undergone short term trainings from three weeks to six months in Bhutan, Australia and Singapore related to human resource management and administration.

On the teaching front Mr. Ugyen has taught in the business department at the Royal Thimphu College as a senior lecturer. He taught varied subjects such as international business, business ethics, negotiations, research, marketing, analytical skills and tourism.Mr. Ugyen has also worked as an assistant documentation officer at the National Assembly Secretariat, RGOB; as an assistant manager at Bhutan Power Corporation Limited in the Human Resource and Administration Department and as a SEO consultant at Domain.com, Inc, NV. He is also a professional licensed senior tour guide in Bhutan.
Till date he has not published or produced any works related to research preferring to refer and learn from works produced by well qualified professors and writers.
His hobbies include carpentry, painting and sports.
