On the joyous occasion of 64th Birth Anniversary of the Visionary Fourth Druk Gyalpo, Norbuling Rigter College (NRC) marked the day with Rigter Essay Competition and Rigter Culture Day. These two events will continue as an annual feature to celebrate the Day.
1. #RigterEssayCompetitionTitled “The Role of the Youth in Promoting a Responsible Society” was kept open to all the Students of classes XI and XII in Bhutan. An encouraging response of 250 essays from 20 Schools reached NRC.
Lalita Kepchaki (Cl XI Commerce, Mendrelgang Central School) bagged the First Prize followed by Sangay Loday (Cl XI Science B, Motithang Higher Secondary School) and Lekzang Khandu Wangmo (Cl XI B, Drugyal Central School).
cFive Consolation prizes were awarded to Jigme Deki Dem (Cl XI Science, NIMA HSS), Tandin Pem (Cl XI CB, NIMA HSS), Sujata Rai (Cl XI Arts, Tendruk Central Schooll), Tashnim Giri (Cl XI, Tendruk Central School), Rinchen Dema (Cl XI A, Drugyel Central School) and Thinley Choden (Cl. XI Arts A,
Ranjung Central School).
To instill writing habits amongst school students, NRC also acknowledged the writers by awarding Certificate of Participation to the top 50.
2. #RigterCultureDay: In the spirit of celebration and to relive the richness of our own Bhutanese Culture, the Students of NRC from the four Residences performed and competed in Zhungdra, Boedra and Rigsar.
Gawa Ling (Girls) Residence bagged the first prize followed by Dzom Ling (Girls), Muensel Ling (Boys) and Shayen Ling (boys)
