Mr. Lobzang Dorji is a recipient of the South Asia Foundation Madanjeet Singh Group Scholar award to pursue a two-year postgraduate degree course in South Asian Studies at the UNESCO Madanjeet Singh Institute of South Asian Regional Cooperation, Pondicherry Central University, India. He also completed a postgraduate diploma in human rights and a postgraduate diploma in rural development from Pondicherry Central University, India. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in History from Sherubtse College, Royal University of Bhutan. Mr. Lobzang is a sinologist certified by the Ministry of Culture & Tourism of the People’s Republic of China and the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. He is a member of the World Council of Sinologists (2022–2027).

Before taking up the position of Senior Lecturer at the NRC, he worked as a Lecturer at Sherubtse College, Royal University of Bhutan. At Sherubtse, besides teaching, he founded the Sherubtse United Nations Club, played an instrumental role in establishing close network with the United Nations office in Bhutan and served as the Manager of Sherubtse Business Incubation Center. He also worked closely with Ministry of Labour & Human Resources of Bhutan as the Lead Project Coordinator for the Skill Development Plan (2021-2023) to facilitate the Basic Entrepreneurship Course to the graduates of Technical & Vocational Education & Training. Mr. Lobzang was a research consultant to conduct Socio-economic Assessment of Zungdi village in Yallang Gewog, Trashiyangtse and Dzongthung Village in Bartsham Gewog, Trashigang for State Mining Corporation Limited (SMCL), Bhutan. Further, he was researcher for the project GOI-PTA (2017-2019) to conduct historical research on ritual & indigenous cultural practices in Eastern Bhutan.

He has published and presented numerous research papers in areas of transnational studies, Bon practices, traditional healing, archaeological & anthropological studies, intangible culture, oral culture, community development, historical sites, educational research, public policy, and indigenous practices.

Mr. Lobzang Dorji is currently pursuing his doctoral studies at the Institute of Asian & Transnational Studies, Vilnius University, Lithuania.

With his vast experience, Mr. Lobzang will benefit the students immensely.
