Mr. Karma Lhendup has a Master degree in Development Economics from the National Graduate Institute of Policy Studies (GRIPS), Tokyo, Japan. He completed his Bachelor’s Degree B.Sc (Statistics) from the PSG College of Arts and Science affiliated to Bharathiar University, Tamil Nadu, India.

After completing his Bachelor’s degree, Karma Lhendup worked as a Planning Officer in the Policy and Planning Division, Ministry of Education. He served as a Head of the Labour Market Information and Research Division in the Department of Employment, Ministry of Labour and Human Resources for 9 years. He lastly served as a Dy. Chief Statistical Officer in the National Statistics Bureau. Karma Lhendup was also a visiting faculty at Royal Institute of Management, Royal Thimphu College, ICFAI University, India and Mahapanya Vidalayai, Thailand. He is also a PhD Scholar in Economics Department, North Eastern Hill University, Meghalaya, India.
He has carried out consultancy works for the Royal Government of Bhutan, UNDP, UNICEF, World Bank and various other NGOs both within and outside Bhutan. He has also authored various books which includes Preliminary Examination Guide for the University Graduates. With a rich industry experience, Karma Lhendup will be able to enrich the learning of the students and development of the Research wing of the college.
