18th Thimphu Half Marathon 2025 Bronze Medalist
Ugyen Tshering, first-year student, made a remarkable achievement of winning the Bronze Medal in the Public and Youth Category at the 18th Thimphu Half Marathon 2025. He participated in the prestigious marathon held in commemoration of the Coronation Anniversary of His Majesty The Druk Gyalpo organized by the Bhutan Amateur Athletics Federation. This annual Thimphu Half Marathon draws athletes from across the country and stands as a vibrant celebration of sportsmanship, endurance, and national unity.
Ugyen Tshering, currently pursuing the BCom/BBA (Common Foundation) programme at NRC, demonstrated exceptional determination, discipline, and perseverance throughout the race. Competing among seasoned runners in the Public and Youth Category, his podium finish reflects not only his athletic ability but also his commitment to excellence beyond the classroom. Balancing academic responsibilities with rigorous training requires focus and resilience—qualities that Ugyen embodies. His achievement serves as an inspiration to fellow students, encouraging them to pursue holistic development and to strive for excellence in both academic and extracurricular endeavors.
NRC Basketball Tea
Winners of RUB BUSF Men’s Basketball Championship 2025
The Norbuling Rigter College (NRC) Men’s Basketball Team brought pride and glory to the college by winning the RUB BUSF Men’s Basketball Championship 2025. The national-level tournament was hosted at the College of Natural Resources from December 11 to 17, 2025, bringing together teams from across the Royal University of Bhutan colleges, including Jigme Namgyel Engineering College, College of Science and Technology, and the host college. Demonstrating remarkable teamwork and determination, the NRC Tigers began their campaign with an impressive 8-point victory over JNEC.
The Team NRC fought through all odds against equally competent teams from other colleges bouncing back to the final undeterred and setting the stage for a thrilling final against CST. In the championship final, NRC put up an outstanding performance, defeating CST with an 11-point lead to claim the gold medal and trophy.
This remarkable achievement reflects the dedication, discipline, and sportsmanship of the NRC Basketball players.
